About this banknote
The Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe issued the 5-dollar banknote (Pick 93) on February 2, 2009, as part of the fourth dollar series. This series was introduced following a re-denomination that removed 12 zeros from the previous currency, with 1 trillion third dollars being exchanged for 1 new fourth dollar.
The obverse of the note features the Chiremba Balancing Rocks in Epworth, accompanied by stylized grains and livestock in the underprint, and the Zimbabwe Bird in optically variable ink. The reverse displays a tigerfish and the Kariba Dam on the Zambezi River. The note measures 148 x 74 mm and is printed on non-watermarked cotton-based paper by Fidelity Printers.
