About this banknote
The Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe issued the 5-dollar bearer cheque (Pick 38) on August 1, 2006, as part of the second dollar series (ZWN). This series was introduced during Operation Sunrise, a currency reform that redenominated the Zimbabwean dollar at a rate of 1,000 old dollars (ZWD) to 1 new dollar (ZWN). The bearer cheques were set to expire on July 31, 2007.
The front of the note features the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe's logo. The reverse depicts the Freedom Flame Monument and a view of Harare. The note measures 148 x 74 mm and is printed on paper by Fidelity Printers. It includes a watermark of the Zimbabwe Bird and an electrotype "RBZ."
