About this banknote
The Banco Central de Venezuela issued the 5 bolívares banknote (Pick 89a) on March 20, 2007, as part of the currency redenomination that introduced the bolívar fuerte (Bs.F) to replace the previous bolívar at a rate of 1 Bs.F = 1,000 bolívares.
The front of the note features a portrait of Pedro Camejo, known as "Negro Primero," along with charging horsemen and the Venezuelan flag. The reverse depicts two giant armadillos (Priodontes maximus) and towering palm trees in Los Llanos. The banknote measures 156 x 69 mm and was printed by the Casa de la Moneda Venezuela (CMV).
