About this banknote
The Banco Central de Venezuela issued the 10 bolívares banknote (Pick 90b) on September 3, 2009, as part of the Bolívar Fuerte series introduced in 2007. This series was implemented to replace the previous currency and simplify transactions by removing three zeros from the denominations.
The front of the banknote features a vertical portrait of Cacique Guaicaipuro, a prominent indigenous leader, with the denomination "10" below. The reverse displays an American harpy eagle (Harpia harpyja) set against the backdrop of Salto Ucaima and the Venado and Kurún tepuis in Canaima National Park. The note measures 156 x 69 mm and includes security features such as a windowed security thread with demetalized "BCV 10" and a watermark of Cacique Guaicaipuro with an electrotype "10".
