About this banknote
The Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe issued the 25,000,000-dollar bearer cheque (Pick 56) on April 2, 2008, during a period of severe hyperinflation. This high-denomination note was introduced to address the rapid devaluation of the Zimbabwean dollar and the resulting cash shortages. The bearer cheque was valid until June 30, 2008.
The front of the note features the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe's logo, while the reverse depicts the Eternal Flame of Independence monument and modern buildings in Harare. The note measures 154 x 78 mm and includes a watermark of the Zimbabwe Bird and electrotype "500." It was printed by Fidelity Printers and signed by Dr. Gideon Gono, the Governor of the Reserve Bank at the time.
