About this banknote
The Banco de España issued the 25 pesetas banknote on September 24, 1906, during the reign of King Alfonso XIII. This note was part of a series printed by Bradbury Wilkinson & Company Ltd., London, with a total production of 28,000,000 units.
The obverse features a seated female allegory holding an olive branch and leaning on a shield adorned with Spain's coat of arms, set against a maritime cityscape with mountains and trees. The reverse displays the crowned coat of arms of Spain, surrounded by intricate geometric designs. In 1931, during the Second Republic, some of these banknotes were revalidated with a dry seal in the upper right corner of the obverse.
