About this banknote
The Bank of Albania issued the 200 lekë banknote in 2007, continuing the series that began in 1996. This series was reissued in 2001 and 2007, featuring the portrait of Naim Frashëri, a prominent figure of the Albanian National Renaissance.
The obverse displays Frashëri's portrait with an open book in the background. The reverse features his birthplace and a sheet with verses from his poem "Ti Shqipëri më jep nder, më jep emrin Shqipëtar," along with a stylized image of his pen.
