About this banknote

The National Bank of Denmark (Danmarks Nationalbank) issued the 200 kroner banknote (Pick 62) as part of the "Famous Men and Women" series between 2003 and 2008. This series was introduced to enhance security features, including holograms and fluorescent elements, to combat counterfeiting.

The obverse of the banknote features a stylized theater mask and a portrait of actress Johanne Luise Heiberg (1812–1890). The reverse displays a lion inspired by a stone relief from the apse of Viborg Cathedral in Jutland. The banknote measures 145 × 72 mm and was printed by Danmarks Nationalbank's Banknote Printing Works in Copenhagen.
