About this banknote
The 20-kroner banknote was issued by Danmarks Nationalbank in 1985 as part of the 1972 series, which was introduced to modernize Denmark's currency. This series featured portraits of notable Danish figures on the obverse and native animals on the reverse.
The obverse of the 20-kroner note displays a portrait of Pauline Maria Tutein, painted by Jens Juel. The reverse features male and female house sparrows, illustrated by Gunnar Andersen. The banknote measures 125 x 72 mm and includes a watermark of a painter's palette with brushes.
