About this banknote

The Danmarks Nationalbank issued the 20 kroner banknote in 1983 as part of a series introduced in 1979. This series featured portraits by the Danish painter Jens Juel (1745–1802) on the obverse and various animals on the reverse.

The obverse of the 1983 20 kroner note displays a portrait of Pauline Maria Tutein, painted by Jens Juel. The reverse features male and female house sparrows, illustrated by Gunnar Andersen (1919–1981).
