About this banknote
The Central Bank of the Argentine Republic issued the 2 pesos banknote in 1993 as part of the 1991-1992 ND series. This series was introduced following the implementation of the Convertibility Plan in 1991, which pegged the Argentine peso to the U.S. dollar at a 1:1 ratio to stabilize the economy.
The front of the banknote features a portrait of Bartolomé Mitre, Argentina's sixth president, in deep blue and red-violet on a multicolor underprint. The reverse depicts the Mitre Museum in light blue on a multicolor underprint. The note measures 155 x 65 mm and was printed by Casa de Moneda, Argentina. It was demonetized on June 30, 2018.
