About this banknote
The 2 dollar banknote was issued by the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe in 2019. This series was introduced as part of Zimbabwe's efforts to stabilize its currency after a period of hyperinflation. The reintroduction of the Zimbabwean dollar was announced in June 2019 to support economic reforms and ensure financial stability in the country.
The front side of the banknote features a depiction of the iconic Chiremba Balancing Rocks in Epworth, which is a recurring motif on Zimbabwean currency. The reverse side showcases an image of the Parliament of Zimbabwe building alongside an artistic representation of a flame. This banknote, with Pick number 101, is printed on a hybrid substrate by Giesecke+Devrient in Leipzig, Germany, and measures 156 x 66 mm.
