About this banknote
The Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe issued the 100 billion dollar Special Agro-Cheque (Pick 64) on July 1, 2008, during a period of severe hyperinflation. These Special Agro-Cheques were introduced to facilitate transactions within the agricultural sector, providing farmers with a means to conduct large-scale financial operations amid the rapidly devaluing currency.
The front of the note features the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe logo with stylized Chiremba Balancing Rocks in Epworth near Harare, accompanied by two giraffes. The reverse depicts a grain elevator with multiple silos and additional giraffes. Measuring 148 x 74 mm, the note is printed on non-watermarked cotton-based paper and bears the signature of Dr. Gideon Gono, then Governor of the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe.
