About this banknote
The Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe issued the 100,000,000-dollar bearer cheque (Pick No. 58) on May 2, 2008, during a period of severe hyperinflation. This high-denomination note was introduced to facilitate transactions as the value of the Zimbabwean dollar rapidly declined.
The front of the note features the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe logo with stylized Chiremba Balancing Rocks in Epworth near Harare. The reverse depicts two women preparing food near huts and a farm. The note measures 148 x 74 mm and was printed by Fidelity Printers and Refiners in Harare. It was signed by Dr. Gideon Gono, then Governor of the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe.
