About this banknote
The Bank of Italy issued the 100,000 Lire banknote (Pick #110) between 1983 and 1993. This series was introduced following the Ministerial Decree of September 1, 1983, and was signed by Governor Carlo Azeglio Ciampi and Cashier Guido Speziali.
The obverse features Caravaggio's painting "Buona ventura" at the center and a portrait of Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio on the right. The reverse displays Caravaggio's "Canestra di frutta" on the left. The banknote measures 156 x 70 mm and was demonetized on February 28, 2002.
