About this banknote
The Banco de la República issued this 10,000 pesos banknote in Colombia in 1994. This series was introduced to commemorate the 500th anniversary of Columbus's discovery of the Americas in 1492, as indicated by the date on the note itself.
The front side of the banknote features an image of a woman from the Embera community and a gold figure from the Tolima culture.
