About this banknote

The Central Bank of the Argentine Republic (Banco Central de la República Argentina) issued the 10,000 pesos argentinos banknote in 1985 as part of the 1983–1985 series. This series was introduced following the enactment of Law 22.707 on January 6, 1983, which replaced the peso ley with the peso argentino at a rate of 1 peso argentino = 10,000 pesos ley.

The front of the banknote features a portrait of General Manuel Belgrano, an Argentine economist, lawyer, politician, and military leader who created the national flag. The reverse depicts the creation of the Argentine flag. The banknote measures 155 x 75 mm and was printed by Casa de Moneda, Argentina. It was demonetized on August 1, 1988.
