The Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe issued the 10,000-dollar bearer cheque in 2003 as part of an emergency measure to address severe cash shortages amid escalating inflation. These bearer cheques were introduced on 15 September 2003, with an expiry date of 31 January 2004, and were signed by Acting Governor Charles Chikaura.
