About this banknote
The Banque de l'Algérie et de la Tunisie issued the 1000 francs banknote (Pick 107b) between April 17, 1953, and April 24, 1958. This series was introduced to replace earlier issues and featured updated security features and designs.
The front of the banknote displays a marble head of the goddess Isis on the right side. The reverse depicts a scene of a man plowing a field with oxen and another man sowing seeds, inspired by a Roman mosaic from the Cherchell Museum. The note measures 183 x 92 mm and was printed by the Banque de France.
