About this banknote
The Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe issued the 1,000-dollar banknote in 2003 as part of the 1994–2004 "Chiremba Rocks" series. This series was introduced to address the country's escalating inflation, necessitating higher denomination banknotes to facilitate daily transactions.
The front of the banknote features the Chiremba Balancing Rocks in Epworth, a prominent geological formation. The reverse side depicts African elephants. This banknote measures 153 x 77 mm and includes security features such as a solid security thread with demetalized "RBZ 1000" and a watermark of the Zimbabwe Bird with an electrotype "1000".
