About this banknote

Türkiye Cumhuriyet Merkez Bankası issued this 100 lira banknote in 2013. It was part of a currency revaluation initiated in the early 2000s to combat inflation. The series was introduced to modernize the Turkish currency by removing six zeros from the old lira, a process completed in 2005.

The front side features a portrait of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of modern Turkey. The back depicts a portrait of the Ottoman composer Buhurizade Mustafa Efendi, known as Itri, accompanied by musical instruments such as the oud and drums. This note has the Pick number 226b and measures 160 x 80 mm.
