About this banknote
The Central Bank of Turkey (Türkiye Cumhuriyet Merkez Bankası) issued the 100 lira banknote (Pick 226) on January 1, 2009, as part of the E-9 Emission Group. This series marked the transition from the "New Turkish lira" to the "Turkish lira," following the removal of the "new" designation introduced during the 2005 currency revaluation.
