About this banknote

The Central Bank of Turkey (Türkiye Cumhuriyet Merkez Bankası) issued the 100 New Turkish Lira banknote (Pick 221) on January 1, 2005, as part of the E8 Emission Group. This series was introduced following the redenomination of the Turkish lira, which removed six zeros from the currency, effectively replacing 1,000,000 old lira with 1 new lira.

The obverse of the banknote features a portrait of President Mustafa Kemal Atatürk at the center right. The reverse depicts the Ishak Pasha Palace in Doğubayazıt. The banknote measures 158 x 81 mm and includes a watermark of Atatürk's portrait. This denomination was demonetized on December 31, 2019.
