About this banknote
The Bank of Albania issued the 100 Lekë banknote (Pick 55) in 1993, with subsequent versions in 1994 and 1996. The 1993 and 1994 editions were produced by the Bank of Albania Printing House and released on March 16, 1993, and April 25, 1994, respectively. In 1996, the note was reprinted by Tumba Bruk of Sweden, featuring enhanced security features, and entered circulation on May 8, 1997.
The obverse of the 100 Lekë banknote displays the head of the National Warrior statue from Korça on the left, with the denomination to the right. The reverse features a mountainous landscape with a Lanner Falcon at the center. This banknote measures 154 x 72 mm and was demonetized on January 1, 2009.
