About this banknote
The Bank of Estonia (Eesti Pank) issued the 100-kroon banknote in 2007 as part of the Second Estonian Kroon period (1992–2010). This series incorporated updated security features to enhance counterfeit prevention.
The obverse features a portrait of Lydia Koidula (1843–1886), an Estonian poet and playwright, with a singing nightingale to the right, symbolizing her poetry collection "Emajõe Ööbik." The reverse depicts stormy waves and a limestone cliff, representing Estonia's natural landscape. The banknote measures 140 x 70 mm and includes a watermark of Koidula's portrait.
