About this banknote
The Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe issued the 100-dollar bearer cheque on August 1, 2006, as part of the second dollar series (ZWN). This series was introduced during a currency reform campaign known as Operation Sunrise, which aimed to address hyperinflation by redenominating the currency at a ratio of 1,000 to 1.
The front of the note features the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe's logo, with the denomination and the promise to pay the bearer on demand. The reverse side depicts terraced hills. The note measures 148 x 74 mm and includes a watermark of the Zimbabwe Bird with an electrotype 'RBZ'.
