About this banknote

The Central Bank of Brazil issued the 100 cruzeiros banknote in 1970, during the transition from the cruzeiro novo to the cruzeiro currency. This series was introduced to replace the provisional banknotes printed by foreign companies, marking the beginning of domestic production by the Casa da Moeda do Brasil.

The front of the banknote features a portrait of Marshal Floriano Peixoto on the right side. The back depicts the National Congress building on the left. The watermark is a portrait of Marshal Peixoto. This note, identified as Pick 195A, was printed by Thomas De La Rue & Company.
