The Government of Gibraltar issued this banknote in 1954, following the guidelines of the Currency Note Ordinance of 1934. This series was part of efforts to establish a distinct currency for Gibraltar while aligning with British standards.
The front side of the note features a depiction of the iconic Rock of Gibraltar, along with inscriptions stating its denomination and authority.
