The front of the banknote displays the Sultan Hassan Mosque in Cairo, constructed in the 14th century. The reverse features a statue of Pharaoh Khafra from the Fourth Dynasty (circa 2558–2532 BCE). The watermark is an image of an ancient Egyptian scribe.
