About this banknote
The Banco de México issued the 10 pesos banknote on May 6, 1994, as part of the Series D banknotes. This series was introduced following the 1993 currency reform, which replaced the old peso with the nuevo peso at a rate of 1,000 to 1.
The front of the banknote features a portrait of Emiliano Zapata on the right and hands holding ears of corn at the center. The reverse depicts machinery at the lower left, a statue of Zapata on horseback near a peasant at the center right, and a building in the background.
