About this banknote
The National Bank of Cuba issued the 10 pesos banknote (Pick 96) in 1961, following the demonetization of previous banknotes on August 7, 1961. This series was printed in Czechoslovakia by Státní Tiskárna Cenin (STC-P) without an imprint.
The obverse features a portrait of Máximo Gómez at the center within an oval frame, with his name below. The reverse depicts Fidel Castro delivering his speech on September 2, 1960, in Havana. This banknote was demonetized on May 2, 2003.
