About this banknote
The Bulgarian National Bank issued the 10 Leva Zlatni banknote in 1917, during the reign of King Ferdinand I (1887–1918). This issuance was part of Bulgaria's monetary measures during World War I.
The obverse features the text "ДЕСЕТЪ ЛЕВА ЗЛАТНИ" (Ten Leva Gold) centrally placed, with the bank's name and a warning against forgery. The reverse displays a multicolored vignette in checkered pink. The banknote measures 142 x 92 mm and was printed by Giesecke & Devrient in Leipzig. A total of 22,000,000 notes were produced, and they were demonetized on May 5, 1924.
