About this banknote
The Central Bank of Venezuela issued the 10 bolívares banknote (Pick 90c) on February 3, 2011. This release was part of the ongoing series introduced in 2007, following the monetary reform that replaced the bolívar with the bolívar fuerte at a rate of 1,000 to 1.
The front of the note features a portrait of Cacique Guaicaipuro, a prominent indigenous leader who resisted Spanish colonization in the 16th century. The reverse side depicts a harpy eagle, one of the largest and most powerful raptors found in the Americas. The note measures 156 x 69 mm and was printed by the Casa de la Moneda Venezuela (CMV).
