The Banco Central de Venezuela issued the 10 bolívares banknote on March 20, 2007, as part of the Bolívar Fuerte series introduced to replace the previous currency system. This series aimed to simplify transactions by redenominating the bolívar at a rate of 1,000 old bolívares to 1 Bolívar Fuerte.
