Printed by Giesecke & Devrient in Germany, these notes were ultimately not issued due to insufficient security features. In 1996, the banknotes were overprinted with "NIEOBIEGOWY" (non-circulating) and released to collectors.
The front of the 1 zloty note features a depiction of a building in Gdynia on the right and the national coat of arms on the left. The reverse displays the sailing ship "Dar Pomorza" on the left. The watermark consists of the national arms. The note measures 138 x 63 mm and is printed on regular paper.
