The Bermuda Government issued the 1 Pound banknote (Pick 20) on May 1, 1957. This series was introduced to update the currency design and security features.
The front of the note features a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II wearing King George IV's State Diadem on the right and an image of Somerset Bridge in Sandys Parish on the left. The reverse displays the Royal Crest. Printed by Bradbury, Wilkinson & Company Ltd. in New Malden, Surrey, England, the note measures 140 x 70 mm and includes a pattern watermark.
