About this banknote
Norges Bank issued the 1-krone banknote in 1941 to address a coin shortage during World War II. This shortage necessitated the production of small denomination notes to facilitate daily transactions.
The 1-krone note measures 100 x 64 mm and features a dark green design on cream-colored paper. The obverse displays the denomination "1 KRONE" with a vignette, while the reverse also includes a vignette with the numerical denomination. A total of 131,500,000 of these notes were printed between 1940 and 1950.
