The Banco Central do Brasil issued the 1 cruzeiro banknote (Pick 191Aa) in 1970 as part of the transition from the cruzeiro novo to the cruzeiro currency. This change was formalized on May 15, 1970, when the currency was renamed from cruzeiro novo to cruzeiro.
