About this banknote
The Central Bank of Kenya issued the 500 shilling banknote (Pick 33) on July 1, 1995. This note was part of a series introduced to accommodate higher denominations in response to economic demands.
The obverse features a front-facing bust of President Daniel Toroitich Arap Moi at the center, with the national coat of arms above and a rose at the right.
