About this banknote

The Nationalbank in Copenhagen issued the 50 kroner banknote (Pick #22) in 1917 as part of the 1911-1928 series. This series, designed by Gerhard Heilmann, was introduced to replace earlier banknotes and featured updated security features and artistic designs.

The obverse of the note depicts three fishermen in a boat pulling in a net, surrounded by ornamentation of hops. The reverse features the crowned national coat of arms, flanked by oak branches on the left and beech branches on the right. The watermark consists of a dark "50" with a light shadow, surrounded by five flowers. The note measures 156 × 100 mm and was demonetized on 26 July 1945.
