About this banknote
The National Bank of Cuba issued the 5 pesos banknote (Pick 95) in 1961. This series was introduced following the Cuban Revolution, with Ernesto "Che" Guevara serving as the President of the National Bank of Cuba at the time.
The obverse features a portrait of Antonio Maceo at the center, with the denomination in letters on both sides and the issuer's name at the top. The reverse depicts the Revolutionary Army marching through Cuba during the September-October 1958 invasion. This banknote was demonetized on June 1, 2003.
