About this banknote
The National Bank of Albania (Banka Kombëtare e Shqipnis) issued the 5 Franka Ari banknote in 1926. This series was introduced following the establishment of the National Bank of Albania in 1925, which was promoted by Italy upon the suggestion of the League of Nations after the election of Zog as President of Albania.
The front of the banknote features a portrait of a boy's head at the right, set against a dark green multicolor underprint. The reverse depicts the Mesi Bridge crossing the Kir River near the village of Mes, presented in purple and multicolor. The note measures 112 × 66 mm and was printed by Bradbury Wilkinson and Company in the United Kingdom.
