About this banknote
The "El Tesoro Nacional" 3 pesos note was issued by the Paraguayan government in 1865 during the presidency of Francisco Solano López. This series was introduced at the onset of the Paraguayan War (1864–1870) to fund military expenditures and manage the wartime economy.
