About this banknote
The Central Bank of Azerbaijan issued the 250 manat banknote in 1993. During that year, due to a cash crisis, State Loan Bonds of the Azerbaijan Republic were officially used as currency. However, these bonds were not always accepted in local bazaars. The acceptance term of these bonds in the branches of the State Savings Bank was until June 1, 2000.
The front side of the banknote features the national flag of Azerbaijan, with the denomination value in the center and the date to the right. The note measures 125 x 63 mm and was printed by Goznak.
