About this banknote
The Bulgarian National Bank issued the 250 leva banknote in 1929. This note was part of a series introduced to modernize Bulgaria's currency during the reign of Tsar Boris III, who ruled from 1918 to 1943.
The obverse features a portrait of Tsar Boris III in military uniform on the right and the national coat of arms on the left. The reverse displays an aerial view of Veliko Tarnovo at the center.
