About this banknote

Bank Indonesia issued the 25 Rupiah banknote, dated 1960, into circulation on December 13, 1965. Initially printed by Thomas De La Rue until July 25, 1966, production later shifted to Pertjetakan Kebajoran. The note was demonetized on September 1, 1971.

The obverse features President Sukarno on the left, accompanied by sugar cane, with the State Coat of Arms to his right. The reverse depicts a female Balinese dancer with flowers, trees, and native houses in the background. Varieties include watermarks of either Sukarno or a water buffalo, depending on the printer.
