The obverse displays the Great Sphinx of Giza and the "Egypt's Renaissance" statue by Mahmoud Mokhtar. The reverse features the United Arab Republic's coat of arms with two stars, symbolizing the union between Egypt and Syria from 1958 to 1961. The watermark is an archaic Egyptian scribe.
