The Central Bank of Egypt issued the 25 piastres banknote (Pick 35) in 1967. This series was introduced during the tenure of Governor Ahmed Nazmy Abd El Hamed, who served from 1967 to 1971. The banknote was printed by the Central Bank of Egypt's own printing house.

The obverse features the "Statue of the Rise of Egypt" at the left center, depicted in blue, green, and brown hues on a multicolored underprint. The reverse displays the United Arab Republic's coat of arms with two stars, accompanied by motifs of corn, cotton, and wheat. The banknote includes a watermark of an ancient Egyptian scribe and a metallic security thread. Each prefix in the serial number was limited to 1,000,000 notes.
