About this banknote

The Bank of Estonia (Eesti Pank) issued the 25-kroon banknote in 2007, with the series entering circulation in June 2008. This issuance was part of a supplementary printing contract with the German printing house Giesecke & Devrient GmbH, aimed at replenishing currency stocks.

The front of the banknote features a portrait of writer Anton Hansen Tammsaare, accompanied by a boggy landscape and the bank's logo. The reverse depicts the barn and buildings at Tammsaare’s birthplace, North Tammsaare Farm in Vargamäe, with a holographic stripe. Notably, the 2007 series includes the signature of Governor Andres Lipstok and the year "2007" on the front side.
