About this banknote
The Bank of Estonia (Eesti Pank) issued the 25-krooni banknote in 1992 as part of the reintroduction of the Estonian kroon following the country's regained independence. This series was printed by De La Rue, a British security printing company.
The front of the banknote features a portrait of writer Anton Hansen Tammsaare, accompanied by a boggy landscape and the bank's logo. The reverse depicts the barn and buildings at Tammsaare’s birthplace, North Tammsaare Farm in Vargamäe. The note includes a watermark of three lions and a solid security thread with the inscription "EESTI PANK."
